Within an impossible architecture of Escher-like stairways and perspectives, dramatically lit by warm, hard backlighting that creates a striking rim effect and deep, strong shadows, three rock pythons exhibit the weighty presence of Roman classical statues: one, of giant proportions, displays its polished surface texture across loosely draped coils; another, robust with saddle-like markings and smooth body scales, remains alert and poised, its vertical slit pupils watching; while the last, a very long specimen with a complex reticulated pattern and subtle iridescence, assumes a defensive S-coil, all viewed from an extreme low, ground-level camera position where their arrangement forms leading lines guiding the observer's eye.
