However, he was not facing a kneeling minister, but staring at a huge laptop screen resting on the imperial desk. The screen displayed a grid view of the "Tencent Meeting" with the ministers, each in their own residence; some looked bored, while others were secretly eating noodles. The emperor wore a pair of over-ear headphones outside his court crown. A eunuch stood behind holding a circular fill light to ensure the emperor looked healthy in front of the camera.
