Greek Island Village Path Painting

Impressionistic oil painting, thick impasto brushwork. A narrow dirt path on the outskirts of a Greek Aegean island village, high on a hillside overlooking the sea. Mid-afternoon light (3-4 PM), blinding glittering sun reflection on the calm sea below. The sea graduates from turquoise near shore to deep blue, then grey-blue at the horizon. A small boat and a sailboat with seagulls flying far out. Left side of path: rudimentary fence of wooden posts and barbed wire, tall Purple Milk Thistles casting harsh, almost black shadows. Right side: dark dry-stone wall, a prickly pear cactus overflowing with bright red/crimson fruit hangs over it. In the deep shade of the cactus, a calico cat (white, brown, black) sleeps deeply. Two sparrows peck at the cactus fruit. Intense blue sky, 2-3 small white clouds. Vibrant colors, capturing light and atmosphere. --ar 4:3
